Story
Hi everyone,
I've put together a team called the Kidney Cancer Crushers for the San Francisco Half Marathon this year. Training for 13.1 miles is a massive goal for me - especially since I'm starting from scratch as a runner - but I really wanted to do something big to support the Kidney Cancer Association (KCA).
This cause became personal to me when I was diagnosed with Stage 4 HLRCC, a rare type of kidney cancer. It's definitely changed my life, and I'm currently on a clinical trial to manage it. While it's been a lot to navigate, we aren't giving up hope - I'm staying as active as I can and keeping my focus on moving forward.
I'm starting this team to raise funds for KCA because rare cancers like mine need more awareness and much more research. Clinical trials are the reason I have treatment options, and I want to help make sure those breakthroughs keep happening for everyone facing this.
